It's a genre of electronic dance music characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and a typical tempo of 120-130 beats per minute as a re-emergence of 1970s disco. It was created by DJs and music producers from a Chicago club, the Playground in 1984 as DJs began altering disco songs to give them a more mechanical beat. The culture was influenced by some Disco Records from the Warehouse, WDAI radio and more, while others crafted skills in their houses.
House was created by DJs and producers in Chicago such as, Jesse Saunders, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Chip E, Vince Lawrence and Wayne Williams, and pioneered by Frankie Knuckles, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Ron Hardy, Marshall Jefferson, lil Louis, Lori Branch, and others.
House Music initially expanded internationally to London by Farley Jackmaster Funk with the dynamic voice of Darryl Pandy, singing " Love Can't Turn Around." The Hotmix 5 DJ's (Kenny Jason, Scott Silz, Mickey Oliver, Ralphi Rozario & Farley...then later came Julian Perez, Bad Boy Bill, Mike Wilson, Mario Diaz, Ed Getdown Crosby, Frankie Hollywood Rodriguez & Steve Hurley), brought it mainstream in Chicago, then to other American cities, such as New York City, and ultimately a worldwide phenomenon.
House has a large influence on pop music, especially dance music. It was incorporated into works by major international artists including Beyonce, Drake, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga, and also produced many mainstream hits such as "Pump Up the Jam" by Technotronic, "French Kiss" by Lil Louis, "Show Me Love" by Robin S, and "Push the Feeling On" by the Nightcrawlers, "Gypsy Woman" by Crystal Waters, "Finally" by CeCe Peniston and more.
Many house DJs continues to do remixes for pop artists. House music has remained popular on radio, in clubs, along with Chicago's House Picnic by the Chosen Few DJs (Wayne Williams, Andre & Tony Hatchett, Jesse Saunders, Alan King, Terry Hunter & Mike Dunn).
To date, many Djs are still retaining a foothold on the underground scenes in House Music across the globe such as First Lady Khrissy and Hugo Hutchinson, Grammy Winner Maurice Joshua, Hula Malone, E Smooth and lots more.
