The Parade's Theme Includes
an unforgettable experience as we plan to reimagine House Music's history while reliving the days when cars dominated the streets with House Music playing on the WBMX radio station with the world-famous multicultural DJ Group called the Hotmix 5, who popularized the sound and more. They broke most of everyone's music involved in House Music on the airwaves in the early 80's, from WBMX to WGCI.
The Parade's journey began when we realized that there was a need for a more personalized approach to include expansion on the history of House Music's creation. To date, we will continue to push boundaries to provide participants with the best possible House Music experience as it relates to its inception and future.
Other projects surrounding this event is the cultural nuances which will also be included in other parts of the parades featured attractions. The parade's line up can include: -Units with Floats -Dance Groups -Marching Bands, -DJ's, Singers & Artists on Display -Car Clubs -Corporate Companies -Large Vehicles -Motorcycles -Bike Ride -Walking Performers -Walking Units and more.
Please note that your unit cannot go over 50 people. Should you need to include more participants during your march, dance routine, DJing performances and etc., there will be an extra charge, fees will be on the participant application. The overall maximum number in one group per unit is 100. You may click the application button above and tell us how you would like to participate in the parade.

Walking Performers

Walking Performers may include DJ performances, Individual performances and more.
Marching Bands, Dancing Groups

The participation fee for Marching Bands, Dance Groups, Military Groups and etc are welcomed.
Units with Floats
$300
The participation fee for small and large companies or individuals with a float is on the application form.
Bikes & Motorcycles
$50 | $75
Entry fee for Bicycles is $50.00, & entry fee for Motorcycles is $75.00.
Small Cars & Specialty Cars
$75 | $100
Small cars $75. Regular specialty cars & Suvs $100.
Vans, trucks & Party Buses
$150 & up
Entry fees for Vans is $150, for Trucks is $200 & Party Buses is $250.00

Volunteers Needed
40th Anniversary Celebration House Music Parade and Fest - Be Part of Something Big!
Volunteer applications are now open for the 2024 Chicago House Music Parade and Fest. If you’re accepted, you will be part of an awesome team to help put on a show for THOUSANDS throughout the globe.
We welcome individuals, families, groups, and students looking to fulfill community service requirements to apply. Please note that you must be 12 years of age (or older) on August 31, 2024 to be a volunteer, and you must be at 18 years of age (or older) on August 31, 2024 to be on the Hospitality Committee along with several other duties. For those between 12 and 18 years of age, a parent or guardian will need to “sign” your application.
Please understand that you may be asked to move boxes, equipment, or other such items. You may require standing, or walking, for the duration of the volunteer opportunity. Your volunteer position may necessitate that you walk up to four miles during the course of the event.
